Abstract Figures

This body of  paintings are figurative abstract work, and has been an on-going subject matter in my work for many years. I find the human form extremely interesting to paint, it’s always changing and intriguing to depict. I chose to distort the body to portray that the human body’s aesthetic isn’t always perfect but that the beauty is in the imperfections. Social pressures on woman in particular to look a certain way and present themselves in a certain light is still very dominating in today’s culture.
